Mr. Phlom THLOK Steps on Another Stone

Following the story posted on Asia Natural Tour blog of Mr. & Mrs. Larson’s family trip hit to sponsor one of Angkor Kids Center local volunteers. Today is our great honor to update you that Phlom will start his one full year intensive course on Tourism Subject on the coming 1st of September 2016, after his successfully made entrance test to catch the highest level of the course arranged by Paul Dubrule Hospitality Vocational Training School in Siem Reap, and the only high standard qualified school in Cambodia, which is a record breaking for our AKC sponsored students to this school.

Phlom is one of our active local volunteers since the time that we had just classes under the families’ house and before the name of Angkor Kids Center formed in 2009. Phlom used to serve as the assistant of the Green Project coordinator who was Mr. Pot PON at that time, in addition to his regular task as the Teacher of English language. Phlom earns his living from working to support his family such as making bloom, incense sticks, firewood for selling and since he is one of active youth in the community, he got some opportunity to join some missions from varied NGO, which he could save a bit from the mission per Diem allowance as well.

Due to the school requirement for him to stay full day at school with lot of homework and researches to do, Phlom will not be able to participate with all the above mentioned activities, this would cause him some challenges to the living survival during his one year learning mission. Asia Natural Tour with Samnang Chhon as one of the company founders, and the founder of Angkor Kids Center who is also Phlom’s neighbor and mentor, a spacious room with internet in Asia Natural Tour office building will be his space to live for free including the utilities, kitchen, running water…

Even though, the school fees of US$ 700  has been sponsored by the Larson’family, Phlom is still in need for some financial support as like food cost, extra learning documents, books,….with a minimum of US$ 40 per month is needed.

Let’s congrats Phlom for his better development of his career life and let’s wish him for the most successful course ahead!

Again we would like to thanks Larson’s family from Colorado, a U.U state for building up Phlom’s dream to come true soon!
